Assam may borrow from Uttarakhand's UCC model: CM Himanta

As Assam prepares to introduce a standalone anti-polygamy Bill during the upcoming budget session of the assembly, scheduled to commence next week, the state is also considering the possibility of adopting an all-inclusive Uniform Civil Code (UCC) drafted by Uttarakhand. A five-member committee submitted a draft code to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday.
